Lagan Valley National Park
Lagan Valley Regional Park starts at Stranmillis in Belfast, and stretches all the way to Lisburn. This is a picturesque part of Northern Ireland that is easily explored by people staying in accommodation in the city of Belfast and beyond. The park is characterised by the towpath which stretches for 11 miles along the river Lagan, and is ideal for walkers, cyclists and runners.
Take a picnic at Lagan Meadows, a lovely nature reserve on the banks of the river. Marvel at the impressive Giant’s Ring, which dates back to Neolithic times – that’s even before the Egyptians built their pyramids!
Fishing, canoeing and mountain biking are all popular sports in Lagan Valley, so this area is ideal for those who enjoy an active break in gorgeous natural surroundings.
